31 for 21: Days 6 and 7

My brain was much last night. That's my excuse for mission yesterday. lol So doubling up again today!

This is Sloan.

And this is Cain.

They were born the same year, in fact just a month apart.

And they both have Down syndrome.

They are both orphans who need families.

The difference is Sloan is in Asia, and Cain is in Russia.

Which means Sloan is able to have a family, but Cain is not adoptable.



And this is Timothy.

And this is Elden.

Also both born in the same year, one in February and one in May.

Both have Down syndrome, and both are orphans.

But one thing is different. The same thing as Sloan and Cain.

They are in different countries. One in Asia, one in Russia.

Which makes Timothy available to be adopted, and Elden unavailable.


Please pray for Sloan and Timothy to find families.

And for Cain and Elden to be taken care of if they can't have a family. ♥

31 for 21 - Day 4 & 5

So, day 4 and I failed. Oh well, I'll make up for it today!

Clarice and Greta are two precious girls stuck in the same institution.

They have missed growing up. Missed dressing up as princesses, missed playing dolls, missed having tea parties, missed have their hair and nails done. They've missed so much.

They need families (or a family!) to love them and show them how beautiful and special they are, and to let them experience all that they missed. To redeem the years the enemy has stolen.

31 for 21 - Day 3

Today, it's going to be two boys!

Jacob is always so heavy on my heart. Sweet boy is so tiny and needs a family soon!

The Bumpo seat he is in isn't that big, and he's not filling it up. Plus look at his legs, they are like sticks!

He is available, and needs a family.

Seth is stuck in Russia because of the ban.

He ages out in less than a year in a half, and if he doesn't make it out in time, he will spend the rest of his [probably short] life in an adult mental institution.

Why? Because he has Down syndrome and in Russia, that is seen as a curse instead of a blessing.

31 for 21 - Day 2

Today there are two precious girls I want to share. One available for adoption, and one stuck in Russia waiting for the ban to be lifted so she can find a family. Both have Down syndrome.

Isabelle is just waiting for her family to find her. She is a Valentine baby, and already 11. :(

She knows her name, she is a happy girl, she knows how to follow directions, she makes friends and plays with them, she is playful, she interacts well, she loves music, she can walk, she can eat by herself, and is learning to get dressed by herself!

Sweet girl needs a family so badly, could you be her family?

And Ellie needs a family, but can't be adopted by Americans right now.

She will turn 9 next month, and here's a little about her.

"Ellie is an adorable brunette girl.  She has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome, with mild mental delays without behavioral impact.  She is said to be a good girl.  She is a kind, affectionate and lively girl.  She loves to play and draw.  She does not speak, but understands what is spoken to her.  She would surely make an excellent addition to a loving family."

Please pray a Russian or Canadian family finds her and chooses to make her part of their family!

31 for 21 - Here we go!

It's that time of year again! October is Down Syndrome Awareness month!

Which means it's the month for 31 for 21, a campaign to blog 31 days of the month, for Down syndrome or the 21st chromosome.

I've done several things for 31 for 21 in the past, informational posts on Down syndrome, and even just blogging every day, not necessarily about Down syndrome. This year I'm going to do something different.

I'm going to blog pictures and a little bit of info for 2 children every day. One is a waiting child with Down syndrome who needs a family, the other is also a waiting child, but who is stuck in Russia because of the adoption ban, as a reminder to pray for the ban to be lifted.

We can NOT forget the children stuck in Russia, and we need to do all we can for the ones we can still save!

And the orphan stuck in Russia I'm sharing with you today is Lilly.

You've probably seen her face before. She's on the header of this blog, and Rachel and I spent a lot of time fundraising and advocating for her over at Handiwork for Orphans.

We haven't had an updated picture of her for over 2.5+ years, and we didn't know how she was doing or if she was still alive.

Needless to say we were weeping with joy (literally) the other night when Rachel found an recent picture of her!!

Doesn't she look AMAZING?!?! He hair isn't shaved, and she has bangs, so it wasn't just put up for the picture, it is taken care of. And she looks stocky (a good thing, as it's better than starving!!), and her arms are pretty round.

No, it's not a good picture, and no she's not looking at the camera, but we are SO GRATEFUL to have it! She is alive and doing well!

Now we have to keep praying to get that ban lifted so she can come HOME!
