PLEASE storm heaven!!
Happy Valentine's Day! I'm asking you to storm heaven and pray for two sweet little Valentine's by the names of Gideon and Micah.
Gideon, also known as Eddie, is the first child I ever posted about for waiting Wednesday. And Gideon is his soon to be brother.
Gideon has been transferred to an institution since my mom met him, and now has a family in country working to adopt him and his soon to be brother, Micah.
There is one problem though. Since Gideon has been transferred, they have to use a different court than we used, and this new one has NEVER had an adoption case. Evensen's (Gideon and Micah's family) knew this going into the adoption, but they didn't know just how big of a problem this would cause.
They were supposed to have court today, but they didn't pass. :( The judge has agreed to see them again tomorrow at 3:15 pm their time. That's 5:15 am Pacific time, or 7:15 am Central time tomorrow morning.
PLEASE BE PRAYING the rest of today and during that time!
Please pray that the judge's heart will change and that they Evensen's will be able to adopt Gideon and Micah!
The lives of these two little boys are at stake!
Please visit the Evensen's blog HERE to let them know you are praying!

Faithful Friday - The Evensen Family
(Sorry, its not Friday anymore. I started this yesterday, but then got busy with Carter Benjamin Benefit! :))
It's Friday! And today meet the Evensen Family!
Right now they are having a puzzle fundraiser for his birthday! For a $5 donation you can give Gideon one of the birthday gifts he has ever received! They will write your name on the back of a puzzle piece, and they will be able to show Gideon one day how many people loved him even before he came home!
And please head on over to their blog, leave them a note of encouragement and follow along on their journey to get Gideon!

It's Friday! And today meet the Evensen Family!

EDDIE for the Evensen family — Aberdeen, WA
Derek and Rachelle Evensen have been married for 12 years. They live on their small farm in western Washington with their three precious biological children: Isaac is 8, Josiah is 4, and Gracie is almost 3. Rachelle is a stay-at-home homeschooling mom, and Derek is an electrician. They keep busy with their goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits, and dog, and enjoy Cub Scouts, AWANA, family game nights, and just about anything that involves them all being together. They have always wanted a large family, and they knew early on that they wanted to add to their family through adoption. They planned to find their children in US foster care, and became licensed foster parents in 2002. However, despite fostering many children over the years, none of those have become available for adoption.
Rachelle has always had a real heart for orphans, and one evening as she was doing an internet search on the topic of orphans, she came across Reece’s Rainbow. She immediately fell in love with the darling little faces posted on the site. Over the next year, she and Derek returned to the website often. At first, they looked and prayed over the children, and despite being strongly drawn to the RR children, they felt convinced that their calling was to foster care, but definitely NOT international adoption! But over the next several months, the Lord worked on their hearts. They began to realize that many of the reasons to NOT adopt internationally were actually just fear and uncertainty talking. The cost, the time away from home, the uncertainty, the language barrier, the cultural differences . . . one by one the Lord eased these fears from their hearts, until all that was left was, “Why not?” They could not think of a single reason to NOT commit to one of these dear children.
Eddie’s sweet, hopeful smile drew them to his profile again and again, and this little boy soon filled their dreams and discussions. They are very eager to kiss his little head and wrap him in their longing arms and to shower him with love and to never let him go. He has been waiting too long, and Derek and Rachelle are working as quickly as possible to get him home. He has two brothers and a sister who are so excited to welcome their new “forever brother” home. He is already so very loved.

Then I posted about him (Eddie had a FAMILY!)when we found out he had a family! And now I am finally getting around to posting about his family! :) They are one amazing family, and they are naming him Gideon. I can't wait until they get to meet him! :)

Eddie has a FAMILY!
So I failed to blog that EDDIE HAS A FAMILY! So.. I'm here to tell you that EDDIE HAS A FAMILY! :)

I was SOO EXCITED to hear that! :D I blogged about him here for my first Waiting Wednesday post. I have been emailing with his new mama (another benefit of being at Michelle's house!!), and she is awesome!!! :) And no I can't tell who she is yet, but I will as soon as their FSP is up!
I was his Warrior, but I guess I'm not anymore, so I'll take that off my sidebar! :) (P.S. Did anyone notice my new blog design? I made it my self, but I'm not to proud of myself as it was very easy - just changing the HMTL code.. :))
Hang on sweetie! Mama hopes to have you home by Christmas! :D

Waiting Wednesday: Eddie!
Update: Eddie, soon to be Gideon, has a family now! Praise God! Please visit their blog here - http://addtothebeauty-evensen.blogspot.com/
I am going to start doing "Waiting Wednesday" posts. And I am going to start with sweet Eddie.
Meet Eddie:
It is easy to see Eddie in this video. He is to the far right, behind the nanny's arms and has a white sheet wrapped around his head. Why??? Because my mom saw about a week before this, he had scratched the back of his ears raw and bleeding. Sadly, this is something extremely understimulated and severely neglected children do to have some sort of stimulation. All of the boys loved the bubbles!
This video is from the little "party" my mom had for the boys in the grouppa. Eddie was allowed to play only for a little bit, and then he was removed from the room and put in his crib. :-(
Someone please rescue Eddie!
I am going to start doing "Waiting Wednesday" posts. And I am going to start with sweet Eddie.
Meet Eddie:
His info from RR (Reece's Rainbow)-
Boy, Born August 23, 2006
HELP!!! I HAVE ALREADY BEEN TRANSFERRED!!!
Eddie was born with Cerebral Palsy. He also shows many facial features of a child with fetal alcohol syndrome. Eddie has an open oval window and an extra ventricular chord in his heart. He is said to have a moderate mental delay.$16114.00 is available towards the cost of my adoption.
Our family has a special connection to Eddie. Remember how I mentioned in my first post that my little brother Elijah recently came home from a poor orphanage in Eastern Europe? Well, in an orphanage, there are "grouppas" or groups. Elijah's group (at the time my parents were there) there were 7 kids, one of them was Shea (who has a family coming for him!), and another one was Eddie! My mom's didn't realize until the end that it was him, so unfortuanately she didn't get many pictures of him, but fortunately she did get some! :) The top two pictures above are of Eddie are pictures my mom got of him, and the 3rd one is his previous one that was on RR.
Eddie was treated horribly. My mom said that when she stayed to watch Elijah eat his lunch, Eddie did one thing to upset the nanny feeding him, and she carried him off by one arm to his crib, with out the rest of his lunch. My mom also said that when all the other boys were out playing in the playroom, most of the time Eddie was stuck in his crib. All he wanted was a little love and attention, and that's why he was smiling when my mom went over to take pictures of him. My mom also saw Eddie take a few steps too!
Since my mom has been there, Eddie has been transferred to an institution. Please read this very moving post about being transferred written by my friend Briana (the sweet girl she had at the end has since found a family! :))! Fortunately for Eddie, he can still be adopted even though he is transferred. But, he is at a very high risk of perishing if he is not adopted soon! Please someone consider rescuing this sweet child! He has over $16,000 in his grant! Which means it would be $7,000 or less for you to adopt him! I am also Eddie's Easter Warrior, (see button on sidebar).
I'll leave you tonight with some videos of sweet Eddie! At the time my mom didn't realize he was "Eddie", so she didn't take them of him, but he is in them.It is easy to see Eddie in this video.
