Just Sarah Grace

Nope, Grace isn't my middle name, but Sarah Grace is the name of an ADORABLE little girl who just happens to have an extra chromosome which she knows how to ROCK! She is the little sister of MattyB who sings the version I've posted of Just the Way You Are.

PLEASE take the time to watch these videos esp the first one! You WILL NOT be sorry!
Sarah Grace is a ROCKSTAR!!!

---------Will Lyla ever have the chance to ROCK out her extra chromosome??---------

Days of Elijah - Day 11

I couldn't think of anything to post about today so I asked Elijah what I should say about him today. I wish I could have gotten it on video, it was too cute!

He signed Isaac (my 7 yo brother), pointed up the stairs, and signed something which I'm guessing was naughty?? (How did he learn that one!?!) Complete with hand motions, grunts, and some of the sounds of the words he was trying to say.

Which translates to (knowing the background of what just happened):

"I was following Isaac around, and he went up the stairs and shut the baby gate behind him, leaving me down here. He's naughty and now I'm mad at him and grumpy!"

I couldn't believe this was the best picture I could find of him being grumpy! It's not like it happens very often or anything! ;)

Days of Elijah - Day 10

Yes, I'm skipping day 9... can't think of anything for it! :)

One year ago today... there was ONE LESS ORPHAN in the world, and I became a big sister of 5! Because one year ago today, my parents had court over in Ukraine, and Elijah became a part of our FAMILY FOREVER!!

You can read my mom's post on that day HERE!

Elijah on court day (standing by the infamous black couch :)) -
Wow has he changed since then!

HAPPY ADOPTION DAY ELIJAH!!!!

-----------
I wonder...
will Lyla ever have 'Adoption Day'??

Days of Elijah - Day 8

On day 8 of Days of Elijah, I want you to know that my brother Elijah is soo very special just the was he is! Yes, he does have Down Syndrome, but that is just a medical diagnosis. It doesn't define him!

He is NOT a 'Down's boy', or a 'Down syndrome kids'. Just like you don't call a person with cancer a 'cancer lady', you don't call individuals with Down Syndrome a "Down's baby'. It's called People First Language!

He is absolutely precious, unique, wonderful, and soo very loved just the way he is!!

I know I've posted that song before, but I love it and had to post it again! :) I love you Elijah!!!

Days of Elijah - Day 7

I hope you don't mind, but this time I'm going to get caught up by posting each day separate, so hopefully it will register in my brain that I need to post EVERY day! :)

I've already told you that Elijah LOVES shutting doors and Down Syndrome should be renamed Shutting Door Syndrome. Well, another alternative would be renaming it Pushing Button Syndrome!

Not as in pushing peoples buttons to drive them crazy (though at times he is good at that too!), but pushing buttons on TV's, remotes, phones, iPads, radios, computer keyboards, and especially DVD players! He's figured out how to open the DVD player, put Signing Time in, and get it play. Stinker! Dad will definitively be making a DVD player guard soon! We also have to lock the computer every time we walk away from it! :)

Tip: To lock a computer quickly to keep little fingers from messing things up, hit the Widows button and the 'L' button. Thanks Michelle! :)
